Got out of the house and as expected, the main road where the bus was bombed was cordoned off. The police have managed to set up some sort of proper barrier, blocking the view and access. Now all the camera men and crew can do was to set up their tents and stand there to try to give their news reports. Saw SKY news and NBC here. Well, there goes the chance to go to Natwest, don’t think they are open for business as well.

So then had to walk down the other side and headed towards kings cross. The Londoners are not going to be stopped by this bunch of pathetic wankers. Life is going to go on. Cant stop London like this.

Tried to go via the little back streets at the back of the BMA building. This is the back of the BMA building near Cartwright Gardens.
Looks pretty normal. Its usually this quiet here. This is a little know back road that is mainly used for deliveries access and for the mews houses here.
Went past Cartwright Gardens and headed towards Marchmont Street only to find that it was cordoned off as well. Seems kinda funny. The shops were open, (mainly because they are like the old fashioned shop houses that the shopkeepers live above the shop) but human traffic was not allowed past the police tapes. It was residents only. Erm, Wonder how are they going to do any business. Most of their customers probably comes from the youth hostel GENERATOR at the junction of Tavistock place and Marchmont Street.

Managed to get through Brunswick place and was confronted with a HUGE collection of TV crew covering the clean up at Russell Square Tube station.

Got to work. Although with a little detour, was not much longer than normal.
People were talking in the corridors as they walked past each other trying to check if all their colleagues that have yet to turn up to work were accounted for.
But other than these small area closures, life still goes on as per normal. The children still need their operations, the hospitals still need to run their normal operations and services and clinics. “U Cant Stop Me!” that song from Gen X cops enters my mind. Maybe this should be the theme song for a bit for London in the next few days.
Just took a picture of this along the corridor of the Cardiac Wing. Wall of hope. How appropriate. May not sound logical, but it does give me a sense of warmth and hope that things will still go on.
Most people turned up for work, not surprisingly. All the people in our department has been accounted for. However, from the clinical labs, there were news of 2 colleagues that were still missing. One from Biochemistry and one from Radiology. Seriously hope that they are all still alive and in one of the hospitals.
Took 2 more pictures of them doing news reports and the news vans when I came out to get takeaway for dinner.
Left work late and posters have started going up on the walls and lamp posts about Russell Squares with pictures of missing people. People are frantically searching for their missing friends and relatives. Got quite upset by that actually. I can imagine how bad it must feel not to know what happened to loved ones and there are no news available.
